Sharon Stone

Welded Sculptures

Sharon holds the Executive role of Treasurer of the Guild. She is a multi-disciplinary artist, known for her vibrant creativity, playful sense of humour, and ability to turn just about anything into art – and artisan craft. While she explores many different crafts and media, her most recognisable work lies in her striking welded animal sculptures—crafted from recycled tools, scrap metal, and salvaged wood.

Each sculpture is a one-of-a-kind character, brought to life with a keen eye for form, texture, and personality. From expressive dogs to quirky farmyard creatures, her pieces celebrate the charm of the handmade and the beauty of giving old materials new life.

When she’s not welding, Sharon can be found painting pet portraits in delicate watercolours or soft pastels, capturing the unique spirit of beloved animals with warmth and skill. She also creates mosaics using broken and repurposed crockery—turning forgotten fragments into joyful, tactile artworks.

Her home studio, nestled in the Norfolk countryside, is shared with a lively crew of dogs and pet Guernsey goats who provide endless inspiration (and amusement). Surrounded by animals, rural life, and the odd rusty wrench waiting to become a cockerel, Sharon crafts unique work that is imaginative, heartfelt, and often filled with a touch of mischief.

Whether welding, painting, or piecing together mosaics, she brings her joyful energy and creative curiosity to everything she makes—proving that for her, skilled craft truly knows no boundaries.
