Patchwork, Quilting and Textiles
A long-standing member of the Norfolk Craft Guild for over ten years, Helen is a dedicated textile artist specialising in patchwork quilts, appliqué cushions, and hand-finished fabric accessories. Her work combines traditional techniques with contemporary creativity, resulting in beautifully crafted pieces that are both decorative and practical.
Machine-pieced and quilted with great care, each item is thoughtfully brought to life with hand-stitched details that reflect her attention to craftsmanship. Alongside quilts and cushions, she also creates fabric-covered boxes and needlework accessories—such as pincushions, button and trinket boxes, jewellery cases, and keepsake containers—each one lovingly handmade and designed to be cherished and treasured.

Originally from Northern Ireland, she draws on a deep-rooted appreciation for the traditional textiles of her homeland, incorporating Irish linens and tweeds into many of her designs. Now living in rural Norfolk, she finds daily inspiration in the landscape around her.
From the pheasants and rabbits that visit her garden to the rolling fields of local farms and the tranquil waterways of the Norfolk Broads, her surroundings influence both the colour palettes and motifs in her work.
Whether capturing a glimpse of local wildlife in appliqué or evoking the texture of natural fibres in her fabric choices, Helen brings warmth, heritage, and a sense of place to everything she makes.
