Jan Doy

Sewing

Formerly embracing the lifestyle and travel being part of the Royal Air Force community and raising a family, after several deployments her family was stationed in Norfolk and she has since settled here and embraced a quieter, more creative path as a skilled fabric and textile artisan.

Jan is a committee member of the Guild and holds the position of Hospitality Officer – co-ordinating the Guild social events and activities – and the beverage supplies that keep the Guild membership refreshed during meetings and stewarding of exhibitions!

Jan works from her home studio where her trusty sewing machine hums alongside careful hand-stitching and hand knitting items to bring her ideas to life.

Drawing on her practical nature and creative flair, she produces a charming range of handmade homewares that blend function with beauty.

Her collection includes everything from cheerful cushions and eye-catching tea cosies to peg baskets, aprons, bags, doorstops, and similar decorative textile items. She also crafts drawstring wash bags and other everyday essentials, each designed with thoughtful detail and made to be both practically useful and uplifting in design.

With a keen eye for fabric and a passion for craftsmanship, her work reflects her love of textiles, colour, and design — bringing joy and comfort into homes, one stitch at a time.
