Painted Woodturning and Woodcraft
Based in the heart of South Norfolk, Mike is a skilled woodturner working from his home workshop surrounded by the quiet beauty of the countryside, to create a wide range of hand-turned pieces that blend traditional craftsmanship with contemporary style.
Using a lathe, he transforms raw timber into unique, functional art—bowls with rich grain and depth, vibrant resin and wooden pens, and other finely finished objects. His work is known for its colour, texture, and attention to detail. Each piece is enhanced with techniques such as texturing, pyrography, and layered painting.
Using a texturing tool, he adds tactile patterns and dimension to the wood’s surface, while pyrography allows him to etch in fine details. He finishes his work with high-quality paints and finishes to create bold, eye-catching designs that are as pleasing to the touch as they are to the eye.
